On CNN’s live video feed, Brown was seen arriving with several people and appeared emotionally distraught, with red eyes and head hanging as he walked up the aisle of the New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, New Jersey. He approached Houston’s casket, passed it and went back down the aisle.

“My children and I were invited to the funeral of my ex-wife Whitney Houston. We were seated by security and then subsequently asked to move on three separate occasions. I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continue to ask us and no one else to move. Security then prevented me from attempting to see my daughter Bobbi-Kristina. In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene. My children are completely distraught over the events. This was a day to honor Whitney. I doubt Whitney would have wanted this to occur. I will continue to pay my respects to my ex-wife the best way I know how.”

Later Saturday, Brown was performing in Connecticut with New Edition. He appeared energetic and smiling and thanked the crowd for keeping his spirits up. At one point, he pointed his finger to the sky and said, “Blessings to my ex-wife, Whitney Houston. I love you.”

Chris Brown returned to the Grammy stage after being excluded from performing for two years following his assault on singer Rihanna prior to the 2009 Grammy Awards. Brown performed twice at this years event, and also won the Grammy for Best R&B Album.

Brown’s return to the Grammy stage did not sit well with anti-domestic violence groups, music fans and celebrities.

Country music singer Miranda Lambert tweeted, “Chris Brown twice? I don’t get it. He beat on a girl…Not cool that we act like that didn’t happen. He needs to listen to Gunpowder and lead and be put back in his place. Not at the Grammy’s.” Lambert’s parents ran a shelter for abused women when she was growing up.

Actor Wil Wheaton tweeted, “Everyone who apparently forgot what Chris Brown did to Rhianna (sic) should read the police report on exactly what he did.”

Brown had tweeted his own response. “Hate all u want becuz I got a Grammy now! That’s the ultimate f*** off. I’m back so watch my back as I walk away from all this negativity.” Brown later deleted his tweet from his page, but not before it had already been circulated.

Guess those anger management classes went to waste.

Columbian singer Shakira was attacked by sea lions after getting a little too close to the animals during her vacation in Cape Town last weekend.

The songstress documented her entire ordeal, posting pictures of her scratches and the sea lions on her Facebook page. The “Hips Don’t Lie” singer tried to pet one of the seals while taking a photo before the chaos started.

“Suddenly, one of them jumped out of the water so fast and impetuously that it got about one foot away from me, looked me in the eye, roared in fury and tried to bite me,” Shakira wrote.

Thankfully her brother “Super Tony” came to the rescue.

“Everyone there screamed, including me. I was paralyzed by fear and couldn’t move, I just kept eye contact with it while my brother ‘Super Tony’ jumped over me and literally saved my life, taking me away from the beast. We both got our hands and legs scratched by the rocks while trying to protect ourselves,” she wrote.

Shakira wrote that she thought the sea lions confused her Blackberry for some time of fish, causing it to jump toward her.

Last time we checked, smart phones look and smell nothing like fish so the singer should probably just learn to keep her distance but we’re happy she survived her close encounter with the not-so-friendly marine mammals.

The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Johnny Lee Miller will star as Sherlock Holmes in CBS’s new pilot, Elementary.

The network’s latest drama is described as a modern take on the classic tale that will follow Holmes’ adventures in New York City.

The casting marks a return to TV for Miller, who appeared in eight episodes of Dexter and starred in ABC’s soap, Eli Stone.

Robert Doherty will write and executive produce the CBS TV Studios project, with CBS vet Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly on board as executive producers.

OMG! Gossip Girl star Blake Lively filed a temporary restraining order against a man that she claims has been stalking her on the set of her hit show.

Sergei Mifle, the alleged stalker, has been repeatedly calling Lively’s mother, telling her he was “deeply concerned” about her daughter and claimed he needed to help her because she was trouble, according to reports.

Lively also claimed that Mifle appeared on the set of Gossip Girl Feb. 1 and watched her during the entire shoot, saying he had a “metaphysical” connection with the CW actress. Fearing for her personal safety and for the well-being of her mother, Lively asked a judge to issue a restraining order after Mifle’s behavior intensified in February.

As of right now, Mifle has been ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from the Lively house, vehicles, and places of work. A hearing for a more permanent restraining order is set for March 2.

“Mary J is in the spot tonight, and she will make you feel alright.” Well, she made everyone feel alright on February 9th at the Belvedere Vodka’s pre-Grammy party at Avalon to celebrate its partnership with (RED)™. The night was held to raise money and awareness to help fight against HIV/AIDS in Africa, which is (RED)’s main mission.

Other Hollywood stars that attended the event included: Chelsea Handler, Sophia Bush, Forest Whitaker, Paris Hilton, MC Lyte, Kelis, Melody Thornton, Malin Akerman, Charles Gibb, John Sykes, Sam Trammell, Natasha Bedingfield, and DJ Skrillex. Okay, I am out of breath! But, it is wonderful to see so many people come out to celebrate such a great and worthwhile cause.

Blige said she has always been a supporter of (RED). “Helping to give people awareness about AIDS and save lives, I mean, why wouldn’t I be a part of something like this,” she commented. Blige also spoke about her pick for Grammy artist of the year. “I am rooting for Adele. She’s a real artist with real songs.”

Sophia Bush also had much to say about the foundation. “I think Red is one of the best organizations working in the world right now,” she commented. “When you look at the revenue they’ve generated in the last 5 years, and the way they are sort of affecting conscious consumerism, I think that this is really the future of the whole model.”

She added, “I think that the goal that Red has established in trying to end mother-to-child transmission of HIV by 2015 is incredibly important and it’s doable. And, it’s a wonderful thing when you see an organization like this taking a party that would be happening anyway and using it as a platform to raise awareness, we’re using music for a cause here and I think that that’s something that really resonates with people.”

Blige turned the house into a “Dancery” when she performed some of her classics such as (my favorite) “Family Affair.” Sheila E. also sang her song, “The Glamorous Life,” and had fun rocking out on the drums.

Overall the evening was a success, raising awareness and raising people out of their seats to get themselves on the dance floor.

Marston Hefner, the 21-yr old son of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, was arrested Sunday evening on suspicion of domestic violence against girlfriend Claire Sinclair, 20.

Officers responding to the domestic assault call at the couple’s Pasadena home found the Playmate of the Year‘s minor injuries to be consistent with an assault. Sinclair was bruised and had red marks. Marston said that the couple had argued, but that he did not hit her. She said that he had punched her, kicked her in the stomach, and then refused to let her leave.

Hefner was arrested and charged with misdemeanor battery on a spouse. Under state law, a “spouse” can also be considered a cohabitant.

Hefner was released on $20,000 bond. No court date has been set at this time. It’s gonna take a lot more than candy and flowers to make up for this.

Oh darling Nicki. Ms. Minaj went the costume-y shock-value route tonight on the 2012 Grammys red carpet.  And opted for this blood red Ateleir Versace cape dress, embellished with the Versace Medusa in black beading.  And she even had priestly props to boot.

In a split red cape with black beaded embellishments, Nicki Minaj went Lil Red Riding Hood on our asses for tonight’s red carpet.  Some loved it, many hated it.  Still have a feeling she’s rocking another dress underneath this.  Time will tell.  But you decide.
